How it works
- 1
Press your recording key
It’s Right ⌥ unless you change it in Settings. The notch shows Enzo is listening.
- 2
Talk
At your own pace, for as long as you like. Right-click the notch to watch the words come in.
- 3
Press it again
Your words land where your cursor is, punctuated and in paragraphs, in whatever app you’re using.
More than a text box
Dictation is where Enzo starts, not where it stops.
In any app
Mail, Slack, Notes, your editor, a browser form. If it takes typing, it takes dictation.
Clean text
Punctuation and paragraph breaks are added for you, on your Mac, so the text reads like you wrote it.
Nothing is lost
Every recording is saved in Speak, even if you clicked away mid-sentence. Find one by a word in it and play it back.
Works offline
Once the speech models are downloaded, dictation needs no connection. On a plane, in a locked-down office, anywhere.
Turns into a meeting
If someone joins in, Enzo switches the recording to a meeting once it hears a second voice, and writes down who said what.
Ask about it later
Click Chat on any recording to ask about it, or turn a rambling voice note into an email.

Why on your Mac
Private by default
Speech becomes text on your Mac and the audio never leaves it. Only Chat and Enzo’s other AI features, like notes after meetings, send text to Enzo’s cloud AI, and only what they need.
No upload wait
Cloud dictation uploads your audio, waits on a server, then sends the text back. Enzo skips all of that.
Works anywhere
No Wi-Fi, no problem. Planes, trains and secure buildings where the internet is off.

Questions, answered.
Is Enzo better than macOS Dictation?
For a quick sentence, the built-in one is fine. Enzo is built for when you really lean on dictation: it keeps up over long stretches, turns minutes of speech into text in seconds, and stays on your Mac instead of falling back to Apple’s servers the way Dictation does for some languages. It also keeps every recording, so you can find it, play it back or ask about it later, and it records meetings with each voice named.
Is dictation free?
Yes. Dictation is unlimited on every plan, Free included, with no time limit. Plus adds Medium and High effort, much more AI and answers from all your history for $10 a month, with a 14-day free trial.
Does Enzo work offline?
Yes. Once its speech models are downloaded, dictation and transcription work completely offline. Chat and other AI features need a connection.
How fast is Enzo’s transcription?
Seconds. On an M4 Mac, six minutes of dictation is text about three seconds after you stop (measured October 2026). Meetings take a little longer, because Enzo also works out who spoke.
Can I use a different key?
Yes. Pick any key in Enzo’s Shortcut settings, and choose whether it needs a double press.
Can I keep the text out of the app I’m in?
Yes. In Recording settings, choose to only copy it to the clipboard, or only keep it in Enzo.
Which Macs are supported?
Any Apple silicon Mac (M1 or later) on macOS 15 Sequoia or later. Intel Macs are not supported, because Enzo’s speech models run on Apple silicon.
