Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Enzo, formerly Chirp ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

License

Enzo is licensed, not sold. Upon purchase, you receive a limited, non-exclusive license that may not be transferred to another person, allowing you to use the App on one active Mac at a time that you own or control. You may deactivate that Mac and move the license to another Mac you own or control. Licenses originally issued under the Chirp name remain valid, and licenses issued with a higher activation limit retain that limit.

This license is for personal or internal business use only. You may not redistribute, resell, or sublicense the App.

Starter and Pro Trial

Enzo offers a 10-day Pro trial with Pro features unlocked. The trial begins when you first intentionally use a Pro feature; downloading models, completing setup, and using Starter features do not start it. After the trial, the App moves to Enzo Starter, which includes unlimited Solo dictation, recordings and playback in Speak, Recall collection, today's Recall timeline, past-day overviews, and privacy and retention controls at no charge. Meeting Mode, full past-day Recall detail, and Enzo Intelligence require a Enzo Pro license. No payment information is required for the trial.

Payment and Refunds

Enzo Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks Meeting Mode with speaker identification, full past-day Recall detail, Enzo Intelligence, and related Pro features. Enzo Starter remains available without a purchase. No subscription is required to use Enzo. All payments are processed securely through Polar, our merchant of record.

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied with Enzo for any reason, contact us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

System Requirements

Enzo requires:

  • Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer)
  • macOS 15.0 (Sequoia) or later

Intel-based Macs are not supported. Please verify your system meets these requirements before purchasing.

Permitted Use

You may use Enzo for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
  • Use the App to violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Record conversations without proper consent where required by law

Recording Consent

You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws regarding recording consent. Many jurisdictions require consent from all parties before recording conversations. We recommend informing all participants when using Meeting Mode to record calls or meetings.

Optional Cloud Answers

Ask uses Local by default. If you add your own API key and choose DeepSeek Flash, your question, recent conversation, and selected text context are sent directly to DeepSeek for answer generation. Your API key is kept in the macOS Keychain. DeepSeek usage charges, service availability, terms, and privacy policy are separate from your Enzo license; Pro does not include provider credits. Raw audio, files, screenshots, and images are not sent in these requests. You can switch back to Local at any time. See our Privacy Policy for the complete data boundary.

Optional Web Search

Web research is an optional capability that you can disable in Settings. The local model decides on your Mac whether current public information is needed. When it is, the app sends a bounded query directly to DuckDuckGo or Bing and may directly retrieve a bounded number of public pages or documents so their readable contents can be processed on your Mac. These requests do not pass through Enzo. Results may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, unavailable, or subject to third-party rights, so you are responsible for reviewing important information against the linked source.

When using web search, you agree not to:

  • Use automated access to overload, disrupt, or circumvent a search provider or source website
  • Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or build a database from returned search results or source content
  • Use returned results to train, fine-tune, benchmark, or improve an AI model or service
  • Bypass rate limits, usage limits, access controls, or other safeguards
  • Use web search or its results for unlawful, abusive, harmful, infringing, or deceptive activity

Enzo keeps returned source excerpts only long enough to generate the answer. Citation links remain temporarily available in memory and are not retained in Enzo's database. Searches and source retrieval are also subject to the applicable provider's or source website's terms and policies.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that transcription results will be 100% accurate.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the license.

Updates

Your license includes lifetime updates to Enzo at no additional cost, including licenses originally issued for Chirp. We may release updates that add features, fix bugs, or improve performance. Updates are optional but recommended.

Termination

Your license remains valid indefinitely unless terminated. We may terminate your license if you violate these terms. Upon termination, you must cease using the App and delete all copies.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will be communicated through the App or our website.
